Teepees were once home to many Aboriginal people of  North America.  Teepee poles  could be worth many horses in trade due to their scarcity in many areas.  Teepee living space was organized to respect both cultural & religious  beliefs.  The Teepee is of a unique design which allows for extreme stability in storms.  Air flow is designed to keep out mosquitos and allows for immediate cooling or heating indoors.  The experience inside a teepee is of huge space and is nothing like the confines of a tent.  You will find your Teepee stay to be very soothing & relaxing - a truly unique experience.  Tete Jaune Lodge is located on an historic Shuswap Fishing Camp directly across the Fraser River from the old Teepee village and cemetary.
